Why early childhood education is important

Give your child the best start in life to flourish

The early years of life are the most important for learning and are foundational for a child's future development and wellbeing.

High quality early childhood education and care gives children the best start in life.

At C&K, we focus on skills that last a lifetime - curiosity, cooperation, investigation and persistence.

Our kindergarten and childcare centres offer both indoor and outdoor learning spaces where children are encouraged to engage actively through play-based experiences. C&K creates environments where children feel happy and secure whilst having the freedom to express themselves.

C&K teachers and educators are passionate and highly qualified. They believe that every child can achieve their fullest potential through nurturing happy and healthy minds, hearts and bodies.

We embrace the diversity of children, families and communities and are committed to reconciliation with children from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Childcare

C&K's childcare centres provide high-quality early education and care for children aged six weeks to five years. With over 115 years of experience and 40 centres across Queensland, we focus on nurturing children’s growth through play and learning.

Our programs include an infant and toddler approach, as well as a government-approved kindergarten program for four-year-olds.

All our childcare centres are designed with large outdoor environments and offer flexible care options. We're proud of our deep connection with local communities and of our family support through personalised childcare solutions.

Kindergarten

C&K's kindergartens offer play-based learning for children in the year before they start school. With over 115 years of experience and more than 280 community kindergartens across Queensland, C&K focuses on preparing children for school through structured programs led by university-qualified teachers.

Our curriculum, Listening and Learning Together, emphasizes inclusion, respect, and partnership with families. Programs run for 15 hours a week or 30 hours a fortnight, and extended hours options are available to support families' schedules at some centres.
